THE skies looked blue at this Doncaster school.
Not because of the weather this time though.
It was the blue ‘graduation caps’ thrown into the air by pupils at Balby Carr Community Sports and Science College to celebrate the teenagers’ acheivements.
Dozens of year 11 pupils at the school, on Weston Road, celebrated the end of their courses at Balby Carr with their own graduation ceremony, held in the building’s sports hall.
They donned the sort of traditional mortar board caps which are often worn at university graduation ceremonies.
They also clutched their event programmes and certificates as they said farewell to their school days.
All those present were presented with their graduation diploma which recognises and rewards the progress, achievements and all round contributions the students have made over the past few years at Balby Carr.
They also heard speeches from senior teachers looking back at the 16-year-old pupils’ time at the school since they started there when they were 11 in 2006.
