CHESTERFIELD College has won a prestigious award for innovation in education.
The college won the award as a result of changes to its Sport and Public Services curriculum, which has led to a 16.5 per cent rise in success rates in two years.
The Association of Colleges award was announced by Michael Hancock MP, under secretary of state for further education.
He will present it to college representatives at a ceremony in Westminster in February.
College principal Trevor Clay said: “We’re absolutely thrilled, first of all with this project’s success and secondly with the recognition from the AoC in the form of this award.
“I would like to thank the Sport and Public Services Directorate and its Employment Hub for all of their hard work and effort.”
