Easier access to weight loss clubs needed, says study

Have your say

A study aimed at improving access to weight loss clubs for people with learning disabilities is being carried out by Sheffield University researchers.

To kick the project off research has been carried out among groups of people with learning disabilities to find out what they know about healthy eating and exercise.

But many were often not even aware of the existence of weight loss clubs and were not able to attend as they relied on carers to help them get around.

And those joining could find diet plans complicated and hard to follow.
