The first stand-alone sixth form facility for 16-19 year olds in Doncaster will open on the Hayfield School site in Auckley in September 2017.

Leon Riley, Principal Designate, said: “New College Doncaster will provide educational opportunities for young people from across the borough and will create a dynamic centre for post-16 learning, supporting achievement, aspiration and progression.”

He added: ““We have an excellent track record of delivering Ofsted Outstanding education at New College Pontefract and we will be replicating this proven model at New College Doncaster. Parents and students will have facilities that they can be proud of along with superb equipment and resources including a purpose-built theatre, dance studio and modern science labs,”

The proposal for the college got Government approval in 2015 and the first brick will be laid this summer on playing fields off Hayfield Lane.

Prospective students can find out more about New College at a careers fair at the Dome on February 17th.

A total 32 A-levels and vocational courses will be on offer at New College. Visit www.ncdoncaster.ac.uk or follow on twitter @ncdoncaster or on Facebook Facebook.com/ncdoncaster
