Youngsters from a Rotherham special school enjoyed a special day out at Chester Zoo – thanks to funding from the Happy Days Children’s Charity.
A group of 90 pupils from the Willows School, aged from six to 16 and with autism, learning difficulties and other conditions, enjoyed the outing.
Some were from low income families and so rarely get to enjoy a proper day out.
The charity was set up in 1992 and since then has provided holidays and day trips for over 150,000 children with special needs.
The trips benefit the children in many different ways and help to improve their self esteem.
