Sheffield teenager Connor Brunt has set his sights high – by applying for a sports scholarship in the USA.
Connor, aged 17, from Chapeltown, is studying an extended diploma in sport at Barnsley College, specialising in developing his football skills.
He was selected for the English Colleges national team, scoring the winning goal on his debut in the 3-2 win against Australia.
Connor receives daily training to develop his technical and tactical skills and he sees a physiotherapist twice weekly to help with the treatment of injuries and get advice on rehabilitation.
Connor said: “The college has an excellent reputation and offered me the opportunity to combine education and football. I’m now making applications for university scholarships in the USA.”
