Students from Dearne Valley College are ready to enter the world of work after a busy Employability and Careers Week.

Activities at the Wath-based college included an Employers Question Time panel made up of representatives from local businesses and organisations, who gave advice about CVs and applying for jobs.

A Volunteerism Day gave students the chance to learn about local volunteering opportunities, while local artist Brian Nelson offered workshops for art and design students.

Job Clubs advised on CV writing, job searching, interview techniques and choosing a career.

Careers adviser Laura Schofield said: “The sessions were intended to help prepare them for progression from education to employment.”
