Elated staff and students at Communication Specialist College Doncaster are celebrating being named the Best Improved Organisation at the National Centre for Diversity Awards.

The college was also placed eighth in the country from over 600 organisations for its diversity work.

Alan Robinson, executive principal of the Trust said: “This award is a real honour for us. Our huge thanks go to the Equality and Diversity Committee for all of their input and to all of our staff for their commitment to improving Equality and Diversity in College.

“Over the past few years the Communication Specialist College has worked towards achieving and retaining the ‘Investors in Diversity Award’. This is an all-encompassing approach to managing equality, diversity and inclusion effectively. Working with Investors in Diversity is a great opportunity for us to create a culture where people feel respected and valued and can contribute to their fullest potential.”

He continued: “The work so far on achieving Investors in Diversity Standard has enabled us to plan, deliver and communicate our work on diversity.” To find out more about the college, visit www.deaf-trust.co.uk/college
