PUPILS from Kirton Lane Primary School, in Stainforth, filled 12 large bags with rubbish from their local play area in a bid to help clean up the community.
Nine youngsters teamed up with the Stainforth Safer Neighbourhood Team to help council officers and Police Community Support Officers clean the playground.
In 60 minutes the group gathered 12 bin bags full of crisp packets, drinks cans and other litter from the site on the New Park Estate in Stainforth.
Afterwards, they were presented with certificates in a school assembly congratulating them for setting a good example to other residents.
The litter pick was arranged by the Stainforth SNT to educate young people about the time and costs involved in removing litter.
