City school’s Easter story

Have your say

A PRIMARY school in Sheffield marked the end of the spring term with its very own Passion Play.

Youngsters at Wharncliffe Side Primary enacted the Easter story with the help of a real donkey, which was brought into school by a pupil’s grandparents.

The play saw Jesus riding into Jerusalem on the donkey as the children waved their palm leaves.

A later scene depicted the anger of Jesus at the money lenders in the temple - and there were gasps all around when Jesus really did push the tables over.

Other classes portrayed the Last Supper, Jesus’ betrayal and the Crucifixion.
