YOUNG chemists from a Sheffield school found the right formula when they entered a city-wide science competition.
The team of four pupils from Newfield School were named Top of the Bench in the regional heat of a contest run by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Rowan Todd and Imran Khan, both Year 9s, Finaly Stafford from Year 10 and Olivia Jennings from Year 11 will represent Sheffield next year in the national final of the event for 14 to 16-year-olds.
Newfield beat 13 other schools in the heat, hosted by Sheffield University.
The competition aims to encourage and recognise chemistry students’ achievements.
Rounds included general knowledge, chemical models and ‘name that scientist’.
