A ROTHERHAM charity has received £9,500 from a financial group to launch a new programme to boost young people’s numeracy and literacy skills in the town.

The cash from Britannia, part of Co-operative Financial Services, has been given to the Get Sorted Music project.

It will help the charity initially reach around 80 young people, using songwriting skills, rap music, poems and counting beats to engage under-19s in its creative and innovative education programme.

The project will be launched in the new academic year.
