SHEFFIELD’S Westbourne School is celebrating former students gaining places at Oxford and Cambridge universities.

Tom O’Connor and James Brotherston both left Sheffield’s only co-educational independent school in summer 2011, each with 12 A and A* passes at GCSE.

Tom is now to study Engineering at St Hugh’s College, Oxford, while Tom will be studying Maths at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge.

“We are delighted,” said Westbourne headmaster John Hicks.
