TWO potential future Blades players were discovered when dozens of children from Derbyshire’s Derwent Valley attended a Sheffield United soccer camp.
Youngsters Louie Davies and Tyrone Jones were selected for Sheffield United’s development centre after attending the camp ran by the United Initiative at Lady Manners School, Bakewell.
The camp was the first to be held outside the city and 65 children attended – receiving expert coaching from former Blade Adrian Littlejohn and his son Reece, community coach at the United Initiative.
Mark Todd, community development manager, said: “I am absolutely delighted that this new initiative has been such a success and will be certainly repeating it soon.
“We saw some great talent on show too and the fact that Louie and Tyrone will be joining the development centre shows that by coming to a camp anything is possible.”
