TEENAGERS at Doncaster College won a visit from a well-known author – for being well read.
Writer Bali Rai is known for his novels aged at teenagers including The Crew and (Un)arranged Marriage.
He visited students at the college’s Waterfront base and gave a talk on his work after it won a prize under the Six Book Challenge scheme, which aims to get teenagers reading more.
The challenge is reading six books in six months and is aimed at reluctant readers. The college has been participating for the last two years and this year the numbers of readers has increased significantly to 132.
