Derbyshire County Council’s adult community education service has received a glowing report from education inspectors.
A team from Ofsted found courses run by the authority were among the best in the country. Inspectors praised the service’s high standards of teaching and learning for young people aged 16 to 18.
The county council was graded ‘good’ overall with rising success rates above national averages for qualifications in employment
The report recommended the council should increase success rates by identifying reasons for early leavers and taking action to improve retention; improve the effectiveness of providing guidance, advice and information; and provide staff training to raise standards of equality and diversity.
