An environmentally-friendly events venue in Sheffield has been shortlisted for a national tourism award.
Green Directions, based at Townfield Head Farm in Stannington, is down to the last three in the Green Tourism Goldstar Awards.
The enterprise goes up against Wembley National Stadium and the Edinburgh International Conference Centre with the winner due to be announced last night in Bristol.
The aim of the awards is to promote ‘responsible tourism’.
The centre is owned by former teacher and Ofsted inspector Mark Woodward, aged 55, who lives at the farm with his partner and four children.
The dad-of-four created a teaching and conference centre out of an old barn and offers eco weddings, talks and conferences.
