Eckington residents have been picking up tips on how to stay safe online at a recent Safer Derbyshire roadshow.
Digital police community support officer Shevani Raichura went along to support Derbyshire County Council’s workshop by offering cyber safety advice at Eckington Library on Saturday, July 30.
As part of the event, PCSO Raichura hosted a stand to raise awareness of some of the dangers posed online and the simple yet effective steps that people can take to keep themselves and their children safe.
PCSO Raichura said: “The event at Eckington went really well and it was fantastic to go along and offer advice at the Safer Derbyshire day. One of the main conversations I had with visitors was around how to spot fraudulent calls and emails. These are scams which we see much too often and it is key to remember that if something sounds too good to be true then it probably is.”
