A NEW name was chosen for the organisation leading the region’s voluntary and community sector during its annual meeting in Sheffield.

Yorkshire & the Humber Forum is now known as Involve Yorkshire & Humber, a name which it says encapsulates the aims and objectives of the organisation “in the light of significant shifts in the political and social landscape expected in 2011”.

Chief executive Judy Robinson said: “The name represents a more dynamic organisation which unlocks the talent and energy of charities and community organisations in Yorkshire & Humber to make a real difference to our economy.

“Strengthening the voluntary and community sector makes the region a great place to live and work, which in turn improves the economic and social well being of everyone.”
