Top of the class for duo with 100 per cent attendance
TWO studious scholars who have attended school for seven years without a single day off sick have been presented with certificates for their achievement.
Libby Hines and George Robinson, who are both aged 11 and pupils at Stradbroke Primary School, in Richmond, Sheffield, both have a 100 per cent attendance record since starting school.
The lovers of learning haven’t missed a single day of classes – from the moment they joined reception class to the end of Year 6.
They were presented with certificates and Meadowhall shopping vouchers at a school assembly by head teacher Martin Fallon.
Learning mentor Kathryn Cockayne said: “It’s an amazing achievement not to have had any time off in seven years.
“There are only four pupils in the whole school who have managed a year without taking a day off – so to reach seven is quite something!
“Their classmates are absolutely in awe.”
The children, who both live in Richmond, left Stradbroke Primary last week and both start at City School in September.
Head Mr Fallon said: “This is an outstanding achievement from two dedicated and hard-working pupils. We are all very proud of their commitment to learning. We wish them every success for the future.”
