Drugs study celebrations
BARNSLEY Hospital is throwing a party to thank patients who took part in a six-year drug trial to test a new tablet for stroke.
Sixty patients volunteered to take Vitatops - a combination of vitamin B12 and folic acid to see if it made a difference to their health in the long term.
Half of patients were given Vitatops and the other half was given a placebo.
The research was part of a worldwide study, and the results will be published next year.
More than half the patients involved in the trail are attending the party on November 18.
