A WANTED drug dealer called police, saying ‘Come and get me’, Chesterfield magistrates heard.

Craig Mercer, aged 24, made a call at around 7pm on March 13 stating that he was wanted by police and he was at Creswell leisure centre.

“He wasn’t wanted. When officers arrived he said: ‘I’ve taken some M-Cat and I’m a dealer’,” said Becky Mahon, prosecuting. Ms Mahon said 249g of mephedrone - an illicit stimulant - was seized.

Police estimated it would have cost around £1,250 and had a street value of £5,000. Mercer also had a £20 bag of the drug and £10 of cannabis.

Mercer, of Franklin Crescent, Whitwell, admitted possessing mephedrone with intent to supply, and possessing mephedrone and cannabis.

Sentence was adjourned for probation service reports.
