THE Environment Agency is inviting residents of Chapeltown in Sheffield to attend a drop-in event to discuss proposals for a new mining waste facility at the former Hesley Wood Colliery.

RecyCoal has been granted planning permission by Sheffield City Council for a facility at the site, situated on Smithywood Road, Chapeltown, Sheffield, and the company has now applied for an environmental permit to operate it.

The drop-in session is to be held at the Methodist Church, Nether Ley Avenue, Chapeltown, on Wednesday, from noon until 7pm, where Environment Agency staff will be available to discuss the plan.
