Drivers will be stopped from using two Sheffield roads in a bid to halt frequent fly-tipping in the area.
Sheffield Council is proposing that a prohibition of driving order is put in place on part of Cat Lane and Carfield Lane, Meersbrook, close to Heeley and Meersbrook allotments.
Plans before a council committee on January 8 say that there has been ‘large scale fly tipping’ in the area and burned out vehicles have been found.
It will meana gate is installed to prevent cars - apart from one resident who will have keys - from using the roads if the plans are approved.
The report added: “It is broadly believed just one gate will have the desired effect of reducing fly-tipping.”
The site will be monitored.
