A MOTORIST suffered two broken legs after losing control of his car and colliding with a lamppost.

The incident happened on Station Road, Wombwell, on a left-hand bend near the junction with Ings Lane, at about 12.05 am yesterday.

The driver of the car, a silver Nissan Micra, was a 25-year-old man, who was taken to Barnsley Hospital, where he is still being treated.

His 23-year-old male passenger suffered minor whiplash and did not need to be kept in hospital.
