A DRIVER arrested over a collision which left a Sheffield binman fighting for life has been bailed by police pending further inquiries.
Police said the 26-year-old, from Woodhouse, has been asked to report back in May.
He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a black Volkswagen Golf mounted a pavement on Beaver Hill Road, Handsworth, and struck a 50-year-old Veolia worker.
The binman was left with life-threatening head, neck, chest and leg injuries and is still in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
A 55-year-old man with whom he was working at 8.25am on February 23 also suffered a number of fractured ribs and a broken shoulder.
