Drive to free Iran prisoners
MEMBERS of a Sheffield faith are being supported by city MPs in their call for the release of religious leaders who have been imprisoned in Iran.
Professor Gordon Grant, chairman of the Baha'is of Sheffield, says seven leaders of the Baha'i faith have been jailed because of their religious beliefs. He says he fears their trial will go ahead without legal representation.
They are charged with "spying for Israel" and "spreading corruption on earth", said Prof Grant.
City MPs Nick Clegg, Clive Betts and Angela Smith have said they will support the protest.
