Sheffield City Hall has won its second award in as many days after food and drink manager Glenn Clark picked up an accolade at the Hospitality Sheffield Annual Awards 2012.
The awards bash was held at Tankersley Manor, near Barnsley, and recognised individuals who work within the local hospitality and events industry.
Nominees are put forward by their colleagues.
Richard Hunter, general manager of Sheffield City Hall nominated Glenn to for the Exceptional Customer Service award for his ‘ongoing commitment to the venue’.
He has come up with new initiatives to cater for the diverse clientele who visit the City Hall every year.
Richard said: “Glenn is well respected within the city.
“He has developed new initiatives for customers showing he is dedicated to making everyone’s experience one to remember, not just the high-profile events.”
He said Glenn was trying out a new foyer café on Saturdays and on show nights, saying: “Glenn consistently delivers to the highest standard.”
Other members of the Sheffield City Hall team to be nominated were Rebecca Holdsworth, marketing executive, who was put forward for the Shooting Star award and Kevin Bird, food and beverage assistant, for the Our Unsung Hero award.
The day before the venue beat off stiff competition from Wolverhampton Civic Hall and Liverpool Philharmonic, to be crowned Best Venue Teamwork in a Theatre or Concert Hall in the 2012 Live Music Business Awards.
City Hall won the category after being shortlisted by a specialist voting panel which comprised of industry professionals.
The City Hall is one of 19 sites managed by Sheffield International Venues.
It celebrated its 80th Birthday in September.
