Dreams of stardom have been shattered for an X Factor hopeful after she failed to make it past judges houses.

Barnsley teen Abbey Eades started out as a solo singer in the competition, but last weekend viewers saw her being put into a newly-created girl band at the bootcamp stage.

On Friday night’s episode of the ITV talent show, the groups’ mentor, music manager Louis Walsh, was joined by former judge Tulisa Contostavlos to choose his final three X Factor contestants to take to the live shows.

Unfortunately the unnamed girl band that 18-year-old Abbey was placed in was turned down by a tearful Walsh along with groups Concept and The Brookes.

Delivering the upsetting news, he said: “This is the hardest one for me today because I know I’ve broken their hearts but I can’t put everybody through.”

He chose to take through Blonde Electric, Only the Young and an eight-piece boy band that was put together at the bootcamp stage.
