This collection of booze was seized from children in one North Derbyshire community – in just two days.
More than 60 cans and bottles were seized from underage drinkers during a weekend police patrol in Eckington.
The haul, which included more than 50 cans and bottles and beer and cider and seven bottles of wine and spirits, was collected as police targeted concerns involving anti-social and nuisance behaviour around Eckington Leisure Centre, the town centre and School Street.
The youngsters were sent home and parents were given alcohol warning letters, informing them of their child’s behaviour and about the dangers of alcohol.
PCSO Dale Merchant, of Eckington safer neighbourhood policing team said: “We seized a large quantity of alcohol and took action to move the youngsters on as part of patrols to target residents’ concerns about anti-social behaviour, and also for the youngsters’ own safety.”
