A NEW Tesco Express store in Rotherham has received 520 applications for 12 new jobs – 43 applicants per vacancy.
Each job at the shop on Moorgate Road, Rotherham, has been filled locally.
Store manager Guy Sandell said: “I was thrilled by the response we received to our recruitment drive.
“In this time of economic uncertainty, it is great that we are able to create jobs for members of our local community and help get people back into work.
“I am really pleased with my new team and I’m looking forward to working with them.”
He added: “We are delighted to be opening a Tesco Express store on Moorgate Road and look forward to playing an active role in the local community.”
The store, which is set to open later this month, will trade seven days a week from 7am until 11pm.
