An emergency exercise is being staged at Robin Hood Airport to test its emergency plans.
The exercise, running from 3.15pm until 6.30pm this afternoon (Thursday March 7) is a CAA regulatory requirement that enables the airport to test its emergency plan.
Airport staff are working with staff from the local emergency services, Doncaster Council and a number of volunteers who will also be participating in the exercise which is simulating an aircraft incident.
The Airport’s post-disaster management procedures is being tested to assess how family, friends and any injured passengers would be dealt with in the event of a real emergency.
The airport is operating normally throughout the exercise and no passengers or airlines using the airport should be affected by the training taking place.
