A group of young Doncaster footballers are hoping to fly high this season after landing a sponsorship deal with Robin Hood Airport.

Bessacarr Under 12s Reds, who play in U12s Division Two of the Doncaster and District Junior Football League, will be sporting shirts emblazoned with the airport’s logo in all their matches this season.

Manager Dom Patterson and the team dropped in at the airport to be officially presented with the blue and red matchday kit by Robin Hood’s environment and communities officer Kellie Naylor on Saturday.

The team have also secured a sponsorship deal for a new training kit which they will wear on Saturday morning training sessions.

The red, white and black kit has been sponsored by the Ray Dunning School of Football.

The sporting academy was set up to honour Doncaster Rovers fan Ray Dunning, the supporter who tragically died at the end of a Rovers match against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in May 2014.
