FACTORY bosses have launched an investigation after a teenage worker got locked in the boot of a car in a lunchtime prank.
The 18-year-old had to be given oxygen when firefighters released him 45 minutes later. Disciplinary action may be taken at Eurocare Showers in Wheatley, Doncaster.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service described the incident as a ‘prank gone wrong’.
“The young man was quite hot by the time he was freed,” he said. “He was in the boot for about 45 minutes and he was getting concerned. When he got out we gave him oxygen but he did not require hospital treatment.”
A Eurocare spokesman said: “Such pranks are not tolerated. We take all incidents that involve the emergency services very seriously. We are conducting a full investigation.”
