A Doncaster catflap raider is to be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court later this month.

James Myers, aged 20, admitted stealing the ignition keys to a Renault Scenic by reaching through the catflap of a house in Armthorpe Road, Wheatley Hills, on June 1.

Myers, of Prospect Place, Hyde Park, also pleaded guilty to theft of the £1,500 car, driving it dangerously and failing to stop for a police officer.

The court heard he had been involved in a police chase along Manor Drive, Alderson Drive, Bawtry Road and Dunniwood Reach at Bessacarr, the same night.

District Judge Jonathan Bennett ordered pre-sentence reports and Myers was bailed to attend Crown Court for sentence, with an interim driving disqualification.
