South Yorkshire firefighters were called out to a number of small incidents across the borough this weekend.

At around 8.45pm on Friday they attended a fire at a residential garage in Galsworthy Close, Balby.

Crews from Edlington and Doncaster station were sent out to the fire which is believed to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters attended a grass fire in Bawtry Road, Tickhill at around 2.30pm.

A South Yorkshire fire and rescue spokesman confirmed the fire is also believed to have been started deliberately.

At around 11.30pm on Saturday crews were sent out to a car fire in Rawson Road, Tickill.

The fire is being treated as accidental, and is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

Firefighters were called out to a wooden building set alight in Great North Road at around 5am on Sunday morning.

Crews came away at around 7am after extinguishing the blaze, the cause of which is not yet known.

They were then called to a shed fire in Winnipeg Road, Bentley at 11.20am, which is believed to have been started deliberately.

At 2.55pm they were send out to a fire at a derelict bungalow in Church Road, Stainforth.

Crews in Thorne and Adwick attended the fire, and left the scene at about 3.30pm.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
