Donate old text books to Africa

SIXTH form students in Sheffield are appealing for people to donate unused text books - which will be sent to support children’s reading in Tanzania, Africa.

Youngsters at Sheffield Springs Academy have made the plea as they take part in the READ Young Leaders Project, a student-led enterprise programme.

The project helps the sixth formers to develop their entrepreneurial skills such as teamwork, project management and communication, while also making a difference to schools in other countries.

Students hope to collect 1,000 books and £500 as part of the project.

To donate unused text books, or otherwise support the scheme, contact Mrs Jackson at the school by calling 0114 239 2631.
