Don’t pressure us to give tips

If I go out for a meal and the waitress/waiter has given good service I will make sure that I give a tip - usually a couple of quid.

This goes to the individual who has served me.

But I do not want to feel pressured into giving money as a service charge.

When I go to Morrison’s and the person on the checkout helps me pack my bags, I do not give a tip for that.

Tips are a nice bonus in the hospitality trade but they should definitely not be expected every time someone waits on a table.

Fix my fence

My garden fence blew down in the gales last year (I’m in my 80s and on pension credit). I was promised a new fence last year. As I did get a new fence on the left side of the back garden, I looked forward to having a tidy garden again. On May 13, 2011 someone came to repair it.

But it’s unrepairable and rotten. When nothing happened I phoned Sanctuary in June to be told they had a new policy and I had to erect my own fence. I cannot afford the expense yet Sanctuary can waste money on erecting silly old lamp-posts. Couldn’t they have put a fence up? After all it is their property.

Disgruntled tenant

How dare they?

how dare the Goverment pay £14.2 million in compensation to asylum seekers and immigrants while taking money from hard working British tax payers? No wonder the country is in a mess.
