Don’t lay blame at the door of the editor

Have your say

Don Alexander berates The Star’s editor, James Mitchinson, and his staff (Letters, May 28), for missing or ignoring the child abuse scandal in our area.

Maybe, just maybe, it was possible that they like thousands of ordinary folk were muzzled by so - called racist laws which were and still are aimed at one particular section of our society.

Then again if all three local MP’s in the Rotherham area didn’t know what was going on, so they say, and the local police and councillors hid the facts and kept them quiet, as since proven, for at least ten years what chance had this editor and also editors of the national press got in finding out and publishing this terrible state of affairs?

Even mothers and fathers fears on the subject were subdued.

I would think it rather rash to lay blame at the door of an editor of a newspaper when the blame is, and rightly so, all to do with local civic dignitaries and the local police, again as proven, by all of them keeping their silence.
