GRITTY TV star Dominic West is to return to Sheffield for an exclusive one-night stage performance.
The Sheffield-born actor, who starred in American detective series The Wire, will play the role of the narrator in a new work about the life of composer Claude Debussy.
The performance, to take place on March 31 in the city centre’s Upper Chapel, Norfolk Street, will raise money for the Helen’s Trust charity, of which he is patron.
Dominic, pictured, will perform alongside international pianist Lucy Parham, who wrote the production, Rêverie, to celebrate Debussy’s 150th anniversary.
Dominic said: “Having the opportunity to perform back at home in Sheffield is always a buzz for me. Lucy’s work is inspirational and I’m honoured to be able to work alongside her, raising money for a worthy charity in the process.”
The evening will conclude with a half-hour question and answer session.
Lucy said: “It was my life-long passion for the music of Schumann that inspired the concept of my words and music evenings. I’m pleased to bring my latest show to Sheffield with Dominic and raise funds for Helen’s Trust.”
Helen’s Trust supports seriously ill people in Derbyshire and Sheffield to live in their own homes.
