Does Sheffield have worst police force in the country?

Have your say

I am a very proud Sheffielder, but sadly it appears that we are blessed with the worst police force in the country.

Over the last 40 years they have been responsible for so many failures and injustices that it makes me question exactly what sort of “civilised society” we have actually created for ourselves.

The majority of people in this country do not trust politicians and for good reason, but I would like to think that the majority of the population do trust the police of this country.

Sadly in Sheffield, that may be coming to an end.

The mistrust here started during the Miners’ Strike in the mid 1980s.

This was then followed with more of the same with regard to the Hillsborough disaster and now comes even more of the same with regard to the disgraceful child abuse in Sheffield and Rotherham.

The rest of the country must think that the residents of Sheffield are all “stupid, thick Northerners” for putting up with this disgraceful treatment.

Maybe they are right.

Why do we allow our police service to carry on treating us in this despicable way?

Just what sort of people allow the so-called authorities to get away with providing such a service?

Why aren’t the people who are responsible for these things prosecuted themselves?

Why are we paying for the police to behave as if they are untouchable and why has this been allowed to go on for so long?

No doubt, the people responsible are all either now taking or are about to take their nice fat pensions which we, by the way, are paying for.
