PEOPLE with recollections of Calver Mill, weir and marshes are invited to a free Memories Day with refreshments at Calver Methodist Church on March 27 from 2pm to 5pm.
Volunteers will write down memories and take details of people who might like to be interviewed as part of a new oral history project.
George Wolfe of the Calver Weir Restoration Project said: “There are people in Sheffield who worked at Calver Mill in recent times, after it finished being a cotton mill, and may have parents or grandparents who worked in the mill itself. There are also people who have enjoyed the River Derwent for angling and bird-watching. We’d love to record memories from as many people as possible.”
Call 01433 631 308 to join in.
