IT’S a monumental challenge - and only those with appetites to match need apply.

Ravenous revellers are tucking in to a big burger-eating contest at The Harley bar in Sheffield. All this week 12 heats are on to find a muncher with the stamina to devour a giant burger in the quickest time.

Whoever polishes off the gagantuan grub the fastest - a bun stuffed with a 5oz beef burger beneath a 5oz Cumberland sausage, a 5oz lentil burger and a chicken breast, separated by bacon, lettuce and gherkin, all smothered in Monteray Jack cheese and cheddar sauce - goes through to a grand final this Sunday at 5.30pm. The victor wins free burgers for a year.
