A SECTION of motorway running through Doncaster will be closed during the night next week as the carriageway is resurfaced.
The work will be carried out on the southbound A1(M) between junction 37 and Sprotbrough motorway depot, a mile north of junction 36.
The work will also include replacing white lines and road studs.
The southbound carriageway will be closed between junction 37 and 36 overnight from Monday, March 21 to Friday, March 25. The closures will be between 8pm and 6am and the diversion route will be signposted as via the A635. A638, A630 and White Rose Way through Doncaster to join the M18 at junction three. Drivers will continue on the M18 to Junction two, where they will rejoin the A1(M) southbound.
Highways Agency project manager, Andrew Jennings, said: “This work will improve safety and provide an improved road surface for drivers. We ask that drivers take extra care when travelling along the diversion route.”
