DAREDEVILs are wanted to make a splash in Sheffield for charity.
The World Water Bombing Championships return to Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in the city centre in May – and charity Macmillan Cancer Support is appealing for people to take part.
Bombers will launch themselves off either the 1m or 3m diving platform, with each team then graded on style, splash and presentation.
George Thomson, captain of reigning champions MMA Allstars, said, “I have taken part in the last five events.
“I first signed up after finding out my father had cancer and was being helped by Macmillan nurses. Sadly he passed away a couple of weeks after the event, but since then I’ve helped raise £6,500 for Macmillan so it can continue its fantastic support.
“This year, we will be defending our title and want brave and slightly mad people to compete against us.”
To take part in the event on Wednesday, May 1, at 6.30pm, each team must pay a £20 registration fee and aim to raise a minimum of £376 sponsorship – enough to fund two Macmillan nurses for a day.
