A South Yorkshire MP is attempting to re-engage lapsed voters by holding a meeting where people can discuss why they are disillusioned by politics and politicians.
Dan Jarvis, Barnsley Central Labour MP, said the event is particularly aimed at those who do not generally vote in elections.
He said: “This is a chance to find out why some people are disillusioned with the political system and choose not to exercise their democratic right to vote.
“If you’ve never voted in past elections, or feel that politicians could do a better job, this is your chance to have your say.”
n The event is at 7pm on Tuesday, August 27, in Room One of Barnsley Town Hall. Email email@example.com or call 01226 787 893.
