CHURCH volunteers are to help spruce up the Woodthorpe area of Sheffield.
More than 100 people are expected to join in on May 12 with transforming areas near Prince of Wales Road and Hastillar Road and fishponds on Hastilar Road South.
Hope City Church is also aiming to convert a former hardware store on Richmond Road into community premises that will be run by Woodthorpe Development Trust.
Dan Houghton, from the church, said: “We want to be active in the local communities, close to where we meet.
“We hope this project will show our willingness and commitment to make a difference and a tangible impact.
“This is just a taster of what is to come, as we hope the community transformation projects will get bigger every year.”
