Different set of rules

Have your say

Last year we took our children out of school a few days before they were breaking up for a weeks holiday.

Apart from the holiday, our kids never have time off.

We sent a letter prior to notify school of our intentions.

When we arrived back from our holiday, there was a letter waiting for us, notifying us of a £120 fine for taking our kids out of school.

Yet, I know there are hundreds of kids who regularly do not attend school, yet their parents don’t receive letters fining them. It seems one rule for one and one rule for another.
