A DATE has been set for a public inquiry which will decide the fate of holiday homes built a foot too high on the outskirts of Sheffield.
Developer Eric Lidster, from Barnsley, is appealing against Sheffield Council enforcement notices ordering him to pull down the four half-finished properties at Ewden, near Bradfield.
A planning inspector will hear Mr Lidster’s case for retaining the houses - built to replace old wooden homes on a hillside just outside the Peak District National Park - at Sheffield Town Hall on June 21.
Mr Lidster bought the plots, on Pheasant Lane, with planning permission.
But Sheffield Council said the new homes he built ‘exceeded the approved height and footprint’.
