DETAILS of Christmas waste and recycling collections have been revealed.
In Sheffield, collections on Christmas Day will now take place tomorrow, and those scheduled for New Year’s Day will be on Saturday, December 29.
All other collections will take place as normal and residents are reminded to put their bins and boxes out by 7am on their day of collection.
Household waste recycling centres will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but are open in between.
After the 12 days of Christmas, residents can drop off real Christmas trees for recycling until January 12 at: High Riggs Nursery, Stannington; Devonshire Green; St Luke’s Church, Lodge Moor; Heeley City Farm; Frecheville Community Centre and Dobcroft Junior School, Millhouses.
Real Christmas trees can also be collected via the bulky waste service, which costs £18.
In Barnsley, rubbish and recycling bins normally emptied on Tuesdays will have the coming week’s collection tomorrow. Where the normal day is Wednesday, bins will be emptied on Christmas Eve, and collections normally sceduled for New Year’s Day will be New Year’s Eve for rubbish and Saturday, December 29, for recycling.
In Rotherham, collections change throughout Christmas week, a day earlier or later than normal. Residents have received postcards giving their new day.
